ECIS will once again be offering the opportunity for our 6th grade students to see Washington DC! This was a trip that was sponsored for many years pre Covid and we are so excited to be bringing it back! The trip will take place in May of next summer ('25)
Mrs. Sanders will be the group leader for our campus, and she has already sent home forms with the current 5th grade students. We hope by getting everything out a year in advance it will give people the opportunity to plan, raise money, etc. There will also be an informational meeting this upcoming Thursday, May 16th, at 6 pm in the ECIS Library

Our Intermediate GT students took a trip to our state capital and had a guided tour by Representative Nick Archer. Students were given the opportunity to see behind the scenes of our state government. Representative Archer took students to the house floor where they had a visit from Speaker McCall. They also were able to go behind the dias for an impromptu photo op. During the tour of the capital, students also had a short meeting with Governor Kevin Stitt. He spoke with a few of our students and was able to pose for a picture. Ending the tour, students heard from Senator Brent Howard. Thank you Representative Archer and your entire team for putting this tour together and taking time out of your day to show our kids a glimpse behind the curtain of our state government. What a great day to be an Elk! It's what we do! #Learn #Lead #Grow

This quarter, our 4-6th grade GT students are learning about government. On Tuesday, Elk City Mayor, Cory Spieker, spoke with students about what moved him into local government, what his day to day duties involve, and how he has helped to make Elk City a better place. Students worked in groups before Mayor Spieker's arrival to come up with questions they would like for him to answer. They also came up with a list of businesses and upgrades they would like to see come to Elk City. We are so grateful for our city and its leaders who not only invest in our town but also in our students! It's what we do! #Learn #Lead #Grow

Fourth grade students enjoyed glow in the dark math review!

4th grade students from Mrs. James, Mrs. Murphy and some of Ms. LeGrand’s class learned about patterns and weaving technique in Mrs. Snipes’ Art class today. Artists made their own paper loom and weaved their own color pattern.

Our teachers spent the day working within their subject area teams, looking at new techniques and building their curriculum maps to best serve and support every student! They also spent time perfecting the alignment to ensure success as students progress through each grade.
