Today's Flight Academy was a blast for so many students! Special thanks to Korbin Perkey from GAS for the drone presentation and Mr. Pirus for the rockets! Tomorrow, May 30, will be our Outdoor Adventures event! This will be held at the outdoor classroom from 8am-12pm! Transportation WILL be provided! We will leave the Intermediate School at 8:00 AM and return at noon to be picked up.

Tomorrow's (Wednesday, May 29) event for ECIS Summer School is Flight Academy! This will be held at the Elk City Carnegie Library from 3:00-5:00. Students can be dropped off at the library! The Summer Snack'in camp was a huge success. We all made some great snacks and learned a few things too. Thank you to Michelle Cox and Destiny Abbot, county health educators for providing lessons and helping with the cooking stations, Karie Dillinger for providing herbs grown by ECHS Ag students and a lesson on herbs, our amazing summer learning staff, and all those who attended. We can't wait to see you for Flight Academy and Outdoor Classroom next week. #alwaysgrowing

Summer Snackin' was a hit! The students read recipes and worked together to create an infused water drink, homemade ranch, homemade salsa, fruit and yogurt bites, and trail mix. They tried it all as it was made and got to take some home! They also got to take home a selection of plants they wanted to grow including cilantro, basil, dill, and sage! The Extreme Animal Community Event was a huge success yesterday! Thank you to the Elk City Carnegie Library for partnering with us, Mr. Sparks for the Dr. Seuss reading, the library and school staff for all their work, our SROs, the City of Elk City for providing the venue, and to all who attended. You can drop your student off there. Pick up will be at the same location. ** This event is for students enrolled in summer school only!

Open to community! Today's activity for ECIS Summer School is Extreme Animals and will be held at the Elk City Civic Center from 2:00-4:00. This event is open to the community. We hope to see you and your family there! Attached is the schedule for Summer School at Elk City Intermediate! ***If your child is in 5th or 6th grade, there are still some spots available to enroll.

Yesterday was our Chalk Art Contest and to say these students did beautifully would be an understatement! They planned and executed their masterpieces while having the best time! Incredible day at our Intermediate Awards Assembly! We were able to honor so many of our students yesterday. Another chapter closed, but they are all well prepared to turn the page for what’s next! Thank you parents for your attendance. It speaks volumes when we are running out of room to celebrate our students! What You Do Matters!

The Elk City Friends of the Elk City Carnegie Library announced that Elk City Intermediate student, Nathan Shipman, received 1st place at their annual poetry contest with his poem, "Fish in the Tank"! He will be recognized and receive his prize today at 4:00 downstairs at the Carnegie Library! We are so proud of him and this big accomplishment! It's what we do! #Learn #Lead #Grow

5th and 6th Parents, We are now opening up summer school for any 5th and 6th graders! 4th grade is full at this time. It is first come, first served as there is a limit to 25 per grade level. Attached you will find the permission slips. If you would like for your child to attend, they must have these forms completed. You can print these and send them with your student or stop by the school and get a copy from the front office! If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Watkins at 580-225-2687.
