District-wide retake day is this Friday, Nov 14. There will be a photographer in each building that day. Teachers have a list of the students who were not present on the original picture day. They will contact you if your child needs their picture taken. We want to make sure that every student is in our yearbook.

Our GT students wrapped up Lesson #2 on etiquette and the hospitality & tourism industry. FCCLA officers presented an excellent lesson on table manners and we were honored to hear from Sandy Werner with Elk City Tourism about the impact tourism has on our community.
The next day, students took their learning to Oklahoma State University! 🧡 They practiced dining etiquette at Taylor’s, met with hospitality & tourism faculty and students, toured campus, and participated in an amusement parks class.
Huge thanks to:
🍽 Taylor’s Restaurant & OSU Hospitality Staff – for hosting and serving our students
🎤 Sandy Werner – for presenting on behalf of Elk City Tourism
📚 Brycee Bonner & the FCCLA Officers - President: Sierra Smith, Secretary: Peyton Silas, Treasurer: Kinlee Jordan – for the table etiquette lesson
💙 Walmart Community Grant – for generously providing the funds for all student meals at Taylor’s
🍽 Allison Kauk – breakfast & dinner for students
🚌 Robin Coffman – lesson and trip coordination
🍪 Denton & Joanna Wood – cookies for the ride home
👩🏫 Mrs. Gilliland, Mrs. Buckmaster, Mr. & Mrs. Marks – teacher sponsors

Antler Alert this week: Attendance winners were 4th grade- Mrs. Laughlin's class, 5th grade- Mrs. Burton's class, and 6th grade- Mrs. Cupp's class. Our Teacher of the Week is Mrs. Copeland. She teaches 6th grade math. Mrs. Copeland works with her team to plan lessons that are interactive and engage students in discussions about math. It is important to her that her students do not just know the steps in the math process, but also the concepts and deep math understanding. Mrs. Copeland is always willing to help staff and students with anything. We sure are lucky that she is FOR the BROWN and WHITE!
