ECIS Book Fair is this week!

Rhonda Smith, with Interlink Mortgage, spoils our entire staff every month with Sonic drinks. They always come at the perfect time, on the perfect day! This Valentine treat was much needed and appreciated! Thank you!

This week's Teacher of the Week went to Mrs. Noblitt! Mrs. Noblitt is an exceptional teacher and person. She is always willing to do anything that will help her students see success. With constant drive to learn and willingness to lead, Mrs. Noblitt's success ranges from every student she teaches to staff members throughout our building. Student growth and achievement is a top priority to both her and her students. We are so thankful that she is at Elk City Intermediate! Congratulations, Mrs. Noblitt!

A large majority of our students in 5th and 6th grade made Green Club for their math classes as well!
There were even some new awards introduced regarding students and their positive behavior on bus routes. These were awarded to:
Gabby Morales, Jill Oliveira, Riley Scott, Paisley Brown, Olivia Syribouth, Kimberly Soto, Draivyn Hicks, Kevin Gonzales, Camilla Reyes, Jerome Gonzales, and Cage Vidaurri
Certain students were awarded for going above and beyond to help while on the bus. These were deemed the “What You Do Matters” awards:

The One Church Teacher of the Week was Mrs. Burton! We are so thankful for the calm and even-keeled demeanor she brings day in and day out. She does a great job of consistently modeling the skills for her students. She also takes that a step further and ensures students are mastering the content. She embodies what it means to be an educator and we are thankful she does so at ECIS!

She ensures student participation across the board with her mystery person and exit ticket ideas. She is a great mentor teacher as well and we are thankful to have her! Congratulations to Elk City Intermediate Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Julie Copeland! Mrs. Copeland is nothing short of exceptional. She is always working with students to ensure they have every opportunity for success. The dedication and excitement she demonstrates each day is inspiring. From being an amazing teacher to an incredible colleague, she contributes exponentially to our students, faculty, and community! We are so thankful she is at Elk City Intermediate and excited to celebrate her! Again, congratulations Mrs. Copeland!

Merry Christmas from all of us at ECIS! Please enjoy a snapshot from our last week before break, starting with our door decorating contest this year! We also had 4th, 5th, & 6th grade winners from the Christmas time dodgeball tournament! Lastly, thank you to several families (Bradshaw, Felts, Jones, McCoy, Youngblood, Yow, and Sanford) for treating our staff to a great breakfast this holiday season!










Both our 5th and 6th grade academic teams have brought home hardware lately! Both placed 2nd in recent tournaments!

Mrs. Noblitt's math classes playing Grudge Match with Minute to Win It games in order to practice skills that we struggled with on Benchmark 2. It got crazy and noisy, but it was FUN!





We had a few different people spreading holiday cheer last week!
Rhonda Smith with Interlinc Mortgage delivered some much needed caffeine in the form of sonic drinks. We are always appreciative of your kindness!
We also had some thoughtful parents drop off some cinnamon rolls for our building. Thank you Redd family!

Parents, next week in health we will be doing a lesson on reading nutrition labels where students can bring a snack and a drink. Half of the students will have the lesson on Monday and the other half will be on Friday. For more details please check your Thrillshare for a message from Coach Varnell.

'Tis the Season here at ECIS! 🎄 We celebrated 4th Grade IXL winners for Math: Leo Boone & Jarrea Hull We celebrated 5th Grade IXL winners for ELA: Able Banks, Bentley McLane, & Andre Foster We were then able to honor the December Lions Cubs of the Month: Bridges Duran and Kendra Keslar Also, the latest Mountain Man award winners for attendance: 4th Grade: Mrs. Dunn's class 5th Grade: Mrs. Burton's class 6th Grade: Mrs. Williams class The One Church Teacher of the Week was Mrs. Copeland! Mrs. Copeland works tirelessly to make sure her students are progressing every day. She stresses movement and centers in her classroom, thus making sure all students are consistently engaged in the lesson. She also pursues professional development opportunities so she can continue to grow and learn what works best. She is such a valued member at ECIS!
