Mrs. Williams' homeroom was surprised by guest reader, Children's Librarian Mrs. Shannon. She came and read the beginning of A Christmas Carol to encourage the kids to read the classics. The kids enjoyed the story and wanted her to come back and read again. At the end of her visit, Mrs. Shannon gave the kids candy canes. Mrs. Shannon is another community member who shows she is FOR the Brown and White.

Mrs. Laughlin's class had two very special guest readers this month! Mr. Michael Laughlin joined them to read Llama Llama Holiday Drama, and Mr. Mark Haney with Moxy Realty visited to read Naughty Claudine’s Christmas. The students absolutely loved having guest readers and are already asking when they can come back! Thank you for the time and joy you shared with the class.

Several of Elk City High School tennis players stopped by Elk City Intermediate School today as guest readers. As Coach McConnell at the middle and high school for tennis and Mrs. McConnell the librarian at the intermediate, this was a special full-circle moment. A huge thank you to 2025 Girls Tennis Academic State Champions Miranda Brasuell, Kirbey Mouse, and Madeline Laufer, along with junior Kollin Walter and freshman Josie McConnell, for giving their time to read The Candy Cane Fiasco and spread some holiday cheer by handing out candy canes. Our students loved having role models from the high school visit, and it was a great reminder of the positive impact our older students can have on the younger ones. So proud of these kids—on the court, in the classroom, and in our community. 🦌🤍🎾📖
