Just a reminder, school will not be in session Friday or Monday.

Congratulations to these students for being good citizens in the month of March.

This morning, at our Antler Alert assembly, several of our teachers were awarded the grants they wrote for the Education Foundation! We received 8 new smart TVs and a full class set of headphones. In total, this was over $17,000 worth of resources that will benefit every student that enters those classrooms. We have an exceptional foundation that always shows true dedication to our teachers and students and gives exceptional amounts to our schools each year!
Thank you to the Elk City Education Foundation for investing in our teachers and students and showing what it means to be FOR The Brown and White!

Antler Alert: Attendance Winners- 4th grade-Laughlin, 5th grade-Sheppard, 6th grade- LeGrand

Our cafeteria manager, Allison Kauk, has created an outside breakfast cart to be served daily! There will be a different hot option each day as well as strawberry milk and juice. As with all meals served, this is completely free! We look forward to serving our students and want to give a huge shout out to Allison for always showing what it means to be FOR The Brown and White!

March is Music In Our Schools Month! To celebrate, we'll be having a Music Spirit Week where students can dress up and show off their musical style! So get ready to rock and roll in your spirit outfits!

4th-6th grade GT students worked on the physics of space flight using Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. They learned about how thrust is used to push the rocket off of the launch pad and reach orbit and how rockets and shuttles land. Then they used what they learned to build balloon rockets that they launched from various "launch pads" through the library. They tested how much thrust it took to move their ballon rocket from one side of the room to the other and changed flight plans in order to determine how the angle of the launch effects the amount of thrust needed. Students then got to travel to the Stafford Space Museum in Weatherford to see rockets first hand and tour the facility.
It's what we do! #Learn #Lead #Grow

This week!

Antler Alert: Attendance winners this week were, 4th grade- Bruner, 5th grade- Thompson, 6th grade-Cupp. Our teacher of the week is Mrs. Cloud. She teaches 6th grade math. She works hard to ensure that all students understand the 6th math standards. She goes the extra mile to reteach standards to students who are absent. She organizes our student council to ensure that all students in 6th grade have a meaningful experience at ECIS. The Lions Club Cubs of the month for March are Jeremiah Chauncey and Victoria Redden.
We also had some fun on dress up days for Read Across America Week. Do you recognize the substitute in Mr. Earl's class on hat day?

Congratulations to the 6th grade Academic Team, they are Area Champions for the UEL division.

Just a reminder: Student drop off and pick up for ECIS is located at the back of our building or at the park (refer to attached diagram). The front of the building is where our buses drop off and pick up students. We need this area clear for buses. Thank you

Celebrate Read Across America Week! "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

Mrs. Bruner's class had some mystery readers
this month. Mike and J.J. Knight shared the book "Would you rather be a Bullfrog?" By Theo Lesieg. This book sparked some great discussions among the students. Mike and J.J. work for NASA and talked to the class about the importance of reading with their jobs! They also brought the students some cool NASA SWAG! The class was also treated to some donuts and lemonade! We are so thankful for them taking the time to come and share with our class! #FortheBrown&White 🤎🤍
