Tomorrow is an Early Release Day. Students will be released at 1:20 so teachers can meet to discuss student data. Fall Break will be Thursday, October 12 through Monday, October 16. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 17. Have a safe and restful break!

Parent/Teacher Conference Information

ELKS Academy students visited the Elk City Carnegie Library today. They learned about the many resources available to the public for free! Of particular interest was a visit with Oklahoma Works and all the services they also help with pertaining to employment. Students then toured the facility and learned about the remodeling of the library.




Mrs. Stover's Psychology students demonstrated their understanding of neurons by constructing candy models. They then had to label their models with the correct terminology.

Student score reports for 22-23 are available to be picked up at the front office at the HS. Freshman have their 8th grade testing reports and Seniors will have their CCRA Science and US History reports from 11th grade.

Our English department kicked off Fireside Fridays today with 9th grade students! Each Friday our AP Lang/Comp teacher and library media specialist, Mrs. Manning, will welcome 1 grade level of ECHS students to the library during their English classes for a fireside book study and analysis lesson. This semester’s selections are:
Freshmen-A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Sophomores-Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
Juniors-Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom

Our ECHS STUCO got a nice surprise in the mail from the STUCO chapter at Canadian High School, where the Big Elks visited last Friday night!
We appreciate their hospitality and the kind gesture very much, and we're looking forward to adding this book to our library.

There will be a pep bus to the football game in Canadian, Texas tomorrow night. In order to ride the bus, students must sign up in the front office and have a parent call by noon tomorrow.
The bus will leave from the Pioneer Center parking lot at 5 pm and will not be stopping for dinner. Students will need to bring money for the concession stand.
