ECE is about more than teaching our students their ABCs and 123s. Our staff teaches our students life long skills they can take with them when they leave our building.
For example, Mrs. Tew's class each wrote words of affirmation to one another. The students proudly displayed their positive notes on their desk! When asking a student how that made her feel, she replied, "It made me feel really good!". What an awesome way to teach children how to see and recognize the good in others, and how good it feels when others recognize the good we do!

Mrs. Renison's class is learning to identify and name 0,1,2,3 through a Halloween activity with their peers. They had to roll a numeral dice with 0-5 on it, then they had to name the number and count that amount of spiders to add to their straw.

Elk City Elementary teachers are utilizing our Early Release Day to analyze our first Benchmark's data and to plan instructional activities for the second nine weeks. Benchmarks are used to assess progress towards year-end goals. In addition, it allows educators to identify students' strengths and weaknesses, which can inform future instruction.

Mrs. Carpenter wears many hats at ECE. Today, she is our STEAM teacher for Mrs. Horton's third grade class (and many classes throughout the day). Students rotate through STEAM activities every other week.
We are thankful Mrs. Carpenter offers a creative, inviting space in the library for all of our students!
Great to be in "The Brown & White"!
